Rohingya Crisis: Bangladesh forcing Myanmar to Adopt Rohingyans back

Bangladesh passed a resolution for diplomatic pressure on Myanmar to take back Rohingyas and make it possible for them to live a secured life. The proposal was accepted unanimously on Monday in the National Parliament 'Jatiya Sangsad'.
At least 3,00,000 Rohingya came to Bangladesh in the last 20 days, on the face of persecution in Myanmar. The foreign ministry, in a statement, said that Bangladesh was hosting 4,00,000 Rohingyas for the past three decades and the current spate of surge has elevated their number to 7 lakh. Hence, a biometric registration programme was started for the Rohingyas on Monday afternoon.
The resolution came after a detailed general discussion on Rohingya crisis initiated by a proposal moved by treasury bench member and ex-foreign minister Dr Dipu Moni under Rule 147(1) of the Rules of Procedure of the House.
In her proposal, Dr Dipu Moni urged the world conscience to come forward to resolve the problem in Rakhine immediately and mount pressure on the Myanmar government to take back their citizens from Bangladesh. She said that several lakhs of Rohingyas have already taken shelter in Bangladesh to avoid ethnic cleansing in their homeland.
Taking part in the discussion, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Myanmar has created the Rohingya crisis and they will have to solve it. "Everybody knows Rohingyas are citizens of Myanmar and they will have to take back their citizens from Bangladesh," said Hasina.
Expressing her government's resolve to raise the Rohingya issue in the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly, Sheikh Hasina said, "If required Bangladesh would provide all support to Myanmar to overcome the crisis and rehabilitate the displaced people in their homeland."
"Myanmar must clearly acknowledge that Rohingyas are their citizens and they must take back their nationals," she added.
Agreeing with the parliament regulation, Leader of Opposition Rowshan Ershad said that Myanmar killed thousands of Rohingyas and dishonoured women and girls during their heinous and inhuman crackdown. It forced the community to leave their motherland, she said.
Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed, industrial minister Amir Hossen Amu, civil aviation and tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon, foreign minister AH Mahmud Ali  Jatiya Samastantrik Dal members Moin Uddin Khan Badal and Shirin Akter, treasury bench members Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Abdul Matin Khasru, Hasan Mahmood, Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Saimum Sarwar Kamol, Major General (retd) Abdul Wahab and Tarikat Federation member Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizvandari took part in the discussion.
